Hi there. My name is Josh Sassoon, and I’m an interactive art director and creative developer, with a strong focus on UI/UX and SEO. My experience covers the whole spectrum of the design and production process – I concept, wire, design, and build sites.
Currently I’m on staff at Apple in Cupertino, California, where I focus on UI/UX/VI design in the iTunes group. I work directly with engineering/front-end devs/business groups to develop amazing products for iTunes across platforms (desktop and iOS devices).
My previous experiences include working at Sony Music Entertainment in New York, where I designed sites for Sony’s major artists and labels, as well as designing Sony Music’s global commerce platform. Before that I was at MySpace working on all aspects of their marketing/sales campaigns (concept, wire, design, development and then some!). And before that I was a full-time freelancer, with long term contracts working on entertainment sites in Los Angeles, and doing flash design/dev on the Nissan/Infiniti sites.
I have a background in writing code (PERL way back in the day, then PHP/MySQL, Actionscript/Javascript, and of course front-end HTML/CSS), building and animating flash sites, and print design (yes, I remember quark, but now I love indesign).
These days I spend most of my time thinking up great user experiences (tons of wireframing and UI/UX considerations for maximum usability!) and doing the creative comps. I work closely with developers and engineers to make sure we are building the best possible sites and products, both for user-experience and SEO, but also for ease of maintenance and scalability.
Take a look around – thanks for visiting!
